Small and not so well known services

engine for Swiss sites
- Swissweb, an other search service for
Swiss and Liechtenstein sites
- RBSE Spider, a search
service on a small scale because this is not the main application of this
server, based on a spider database¹.

Harvest Broker, Search database with more a smaller database for catchword
search
- What's New Too! Search engine
with a not too large database
- Open Text Corporation a simple

- World Wide Web Worm search
engine, database not too extensive
- Deja News actually more a discussion
forum, not a WWW search engine!
¹A spider database is a WWW site index generated by machine
only. The database computer simulates an artificial Internet user
which reads base page first. Then the computer searches through this file about
clear-cut catchwords, titles and document type tags to make possible a
catchword search. In addition, all links (<A
href=".."> tags) will be extracted, too where every not
known yet link gives a new base page, so this procedure will be repeated
until there aren't any unknown links, theoretically. In the practice the net
performance isn't sufficient enough, so the extracted information already
expire while the process => The already read addresses have to be read again
uniformly, so actually this searching process never finishes, in fact.
